Buys vs Sells is broken down by where the action takes place. If I offer .50 and you come down and SELL to me on the BID it is a sell, whereas if you were offering shares at .75 and I bought it from you on the ASK it is a BUY. More buys than sells indicates bullish sentiment. Three falling hammers on increasing volume is a very bullish sign that the selling is losing strength as we find support.
