I think that the rate of spreading is consistent with what the World Health Organization has said. No need to postulate that it is becoming "easier to transmit" IMO. Some WHO crews have been attacked by villagers not wanting any interference with their traditional burial practices. Fear of upsetting the ancestors is common.
