ROFLMAO good grief man tell me dpbe ISN'T THAT FRIGGIN STUPID.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

In my DD one government official declined to answer my question about the terms of the "contract", and another stated that they had a letter authorizing them to dive, but no mention of a split of the artifacts was in that letter and the letter was not a binding legal agreement. It was a letter authorizing diving and artifact recovery in case the crew was stopped by a law enforcement officer.

If DPBE dove without a salvage agreement legally giving them 50%, that's their own stupidity. I believe this is the only reason DPBE hasn't filed suit, other companies down there have filed huge lawsuits, but DPBE stands quietly by on the sidelines. I wonder why?

You think those other company’s will ever be allowed to work there again? Please name what companies filed HUGE LAWSUITS? And why they didn’t consult with all the other companies. Because if the Dominican Republic didn’t have any reason before to kick all the private contractors out, they do now.
DBM has an excellent area to work. Its well worth the wait to see if this gets resolved. Without stirring the pot.

Probably because DPBE has no standing to file suit, as the contract is in Wilfey's name as some claim.

Speculation And Hearsay Is Right...

First, nowhere in my post you replied to did I say "Why file a lawsuit"

Now, NO ONE is going to be able to call any govt official and have them reveal the confidential terms of a contract between the govt and a company.

The split has always been 50/50 and that has been the case since the begining. And last years diving took place under an extension of that same contract.

And my sources tell me Deep Blue has the same provisions in place to resume diving right now. But why on earth would they pay contract fees and bring up treasure, when the DR is still holding the previous division? Proves just how dysfunctional things are right now in the DR.

I'd say Deep Blue is making the SMART decision by not diving until the division is received.

Again, the financial state of Deep Blue is no secret, so let another company spend the money to sue. If they win, that decision will certainly apply to Deep Blue also.

But....my sources also tell me Deep Blue will be receiving their division loooooong before any lawsuit is heard.
