Tim Young - President and CEO
Tim Young is an accomplished executive with over 15 years of management experience in media and Internet technology companies. Prior to HyperSolar, Mr. Young was the President of Rovion, a rich media technology company, where he increased revenues through a channel sales strategy that included companies such as Clear Channel, Disney, CBS, and Fox Television and bolstered the company’s technical capabilities through strategic acquisitions. Prior to Rovion, Mr. Young enjoyed a decade long career at Time Warner Inc. where he served as Vice President and Regional Vice President of various divisions including America Online and Time Warner Cable. During his tenure, Mr. Young built some of the highest performing sales organizations at Time Warner with responsibilities ranging from product development, marketing, staff training to leadership development. After Time Warner’s acquisition of Adelphia Media Services and Comcast in 2004, Mr. Young served as Regional Vice President of Western Region, and was responsible for successfully integrating the California sales teams which accounted for over $200 million in revenues with 250 sales and marketing personnel, and launched several new product offerings.

Vikram M. Pattarkine, Ph.D. - Senior Advisor, Water Treatment
Dr. Vikram Pattarkine is a chemical-environmental engineer with three decades of international experience covering consulting, research, technology development, technology transfer, and training in the wastewater and renewable energy industry. Dr. Pattarkine has been instrumental in founding several companies by providing strategic advice to investor groups and assuming senior management or advisory positions in the businesses. He has held several leadership positions in the past including Chief Technology Officer of OriginOil, Inc., an algae biofuel technology company; Senior Vice President of Brinjac Engineering, an engineering design and consulting firm; and Director of Process Engineering of Environmental Dynamics Inc., an equipment design and manufacturing firm. During the 1990s he led the Environment and Natural Resources Management consulting practice of Tata Consultancy Services, Asia's largest consulting firm. Prior to this, he worked on energy environment interface issues at TERI, India's premier think-tank. Dr. Pattarkine has been appointed to prestigious professional committees such as the Chesapeake Bay Program's Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee and the Water Environment Federation's Municipal Wastewater Treatment Design Committee. He contributes to these committees as an expert on wastewater nutrient management, energy conservation, and renewable energy. He has authored chapters in manuals, peer-reviewed papers, and numerous technical reports. Dr. Pattarkine holds a Ph.D. in environmental engineering from Virginia Tech and a Master of Technology in chemical engineering from Nagpur University, India. He is an adjunct professor of environmental engineering at the University of Missouri and has also taught graduate students at Pennsylvania State University. He has conducted training programs and has made conference presentations worldwide.

Syed Mubeen Jawahar Hussaini, Ph.D. - Lead Scientist
Dr. Hussaini leads HyperSolar's development of a low cost, solar powered nanoparticle technology for extracting renewable hydrogen from water. He received his bachelor's degree in Chemical and Electrochemical engineering from the Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI), India, and his master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, India. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Riverside in 2009 and is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Hussaini holds significant proficiency in developing nanostructure based solar-active materials for solar fuel production and investigating fundamental energy conversion processes using plasmonic nanosystems. Dr. Hussaini has published over 15 peer-reviewed papers.

Wei Cheng - Research Scientist
Mr. Cheng has been assigned to focus on high efficiency hydrogen extraction from organic waste in wastewater using low cost and environmentally friendly semiconducting materials as photocatalysts. Mr. Cheng received his bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Technology from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics and his master's degree in Materials Physics and Chemistry from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China. He began his Ph.D. research in 2008 at SJTU and is currently a visiting scholar at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His current research is on hydrogen production using low voltage electrooxidation of organic wastewater and preparation of non-toxic metal sulfide semiconductors with low cost materials such as tin sulfide.

Nirala Singh - Research Scientist
Mr. Singh is an MS/PhD student at the University of California Santa Barbara. He is researching ways to produce stable and inexpensive catalysts for the efficient production of hydrogen from sources such as hydrogen bromide, as well as photoelectrochemical absorbers for fuel and chemical production. Mr. Singh's previous works include developing a Solar Energy Course and Lab Equipment at the University of Michigan, electrolysis of water for hydrogen production and bacteria decomposition for water purification, and testing and characterization of high-power semiconductor devices. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.
