golong22,

Then how about mentioning where your information is coming from or perhaps using the the phrase it has been alleged. Also perhaps saying you are not sure if the information you are posting is absolutely correct. Maybe even advising you have not been able to verify the factually of the information.

Another way is to refer readers of your post directly to the post where you got your information. There are a number of ways to do this.

IMO just some thoughts to give the readers of your post a heads ups. I am not saying don't post the information you got just let everyone know where it came from and for your readers to make their own decisions. There are a fair number of posters whom I read that if they say something I pretty darn much can count on what they say. Then there are other poster I have on ignore, but still have to suffer reading their post because a poster whose opinion I value post with my ignore poster.

Sometimes it is a bitch to wade through all of the BULL SH*T on a chat site.

I am only criticizing not saying where your information is coming from. I like to hear and learn what is being said. Then again I, myself, have to take some of the blame and responsibility of what to believe or not to believe.

It just makes it somewhat easier on all of us if we say where we are getting our information. Most people seem to let everyone know where they are getting their info. Sometimes I also forget to source my info. None of us is perfect - just try to do it better next time is all that I say.
