Three New Companies Join CLT Joules

Growing interest breeds expansion.

Thanks to partners across the state, more high potential energy startups have been identified to take part in the CLT Joules accelerator program. This month we are welcoming these companies:

AgriTech Producers (ATP)
Agri-Tech Producers, LLC (ATP) is commercializing an innovative and patented form of torrefaction technology, developed by NC State University. ATP's torrefaction machines convert biomass, such as animal waste, plants and wood chips, into a variety of products, including stronger, lighter and water-resistant plastics; a variety of biochars to improve soil health and productivity; and a clean and renewable bio-coal, which electric utilities can co-fire in existing coal-fired power plants and reduce pollution, without expensive equipment upgrades. ATP has recently announced a new, patent-pending process which uses bio-crops to clean up sites polluted by chemicals, coal ash and municipal wastes, then concentrates the toxins for disposal and converts the plants into the torrefied products.
