Promotional services are only for so long and someway some how compensation is made even if it's for advertising purposes only...Getting exposure for your services by advertising is a compensation in itself...I learned that even before I finished my bachelors degree and then I went on to earn my masters...simple marketing 101...vper may have done a trade off as suggested, but a trade off is still compensation...forming a business entity can be fairly cheap, but the insurances you have to have are not
