Record-breaking live concert movie shot and screened in Sony 4K
It’s an opportunity to experience one of the world’s greatest live bands as you’ve never seen them before. Sony has joined forces with stadium rockers Muse for the world’s largest-scale 4K multi-camera live concert recording.
The Grammy Award-winning band was captured live in front of 60,000 fans at Rome’s Stadium Olympico earlier this summer. No less than sixteen Sony PMW-F55 Super 35mm cameras – provided by Dutch facilities company United and production company Serpent – were used to capture the electrifying performance with four times the detail of Full HD.
Theatrical release of ‘Muse at Rome Olympic Stadium, July 2013’ will be preceded by the band’s attendance at a special preview in London’s Leicester Square. The movie premieres on November 5th at Vue West End, where it will be screened using Vue’s Sony SRX-R320 4K cinema projection system.
“Muse is recognised as one of the best live bands in the world, incorporating cutting edge visual effects to explore new forms of creative performance,” says David Bush, Marketing Director, Sony Europe. “Using our ground-breaking PMW-F55 cameras, the band’s concert in Rome was recorded in incredible richness, enabling the music to come to life in a way that completely transforms the viewer’s experience.”
