FINALLY!!! someone to re-start and run the stem cell RESEARCH! Dr Christine Ichim has great credentials and is another Ichim to the roster of Koos companies.

Now it is a waiting game until they can monetize and leverage the research that has been done ALREADY. Big markets if successful.

I know its a long and painful wait with Koos. BUT I do like that there is NOW a Dir of Research. ENTB research will get attention and hopefully there are competent updates along the way now. Its owed to and way overdue to the shareholders.

I am currently Director of Research at Entest Biomedical where I am leading their cancer stem cell research program.

Formerly, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Salk Institute for Biological Sciences in La Jolla, California. I completed my PhD in the Department of Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto. I have been conducting research on the biology and immunology of cancer, in particularly leukemia for more than 20 years. As a teenager I read medical journals, built a lab in my basement and have been doing research ever since.

I have published several peer reviewed publications in the field of cancer, stem cell biology, hematopoiesis and leukemia; am a coauthor on a book on the role of the immune system in cancer.

For my research, I have has won a prestigious Canadian Institute of Health Research Fellowship, and was awarded more than $175,000 of research funding during my PhD including a prestigious CIHR Canada Graduate Scholarship (2005-2008) worth $105,000. I also won the Adel Sedra Distinguished Graduate Award (2007) for being selected from the hundreds of potential graduate students at the University of Toronto for outstanding academic and extracurricular leadership. Other distinguished scholarships include the Dr. Joe Connolly Memorial Award for Excellence in Cell Biology (2008-2009) from the University of Toronto, the Dr. Dina Gordon Malkin Graduate Scholarship in Science and Technology, 2008-2009 and the Ontario Graduate Scholarship (2001).

I am the first author of 13 presentations at international conferences, receiving research travel awards at 10 of these conferences. I have given podium presentations at several international meetings on cancer, hematology and immunology including: American Society of Hematology, 2009; the 10th International Symposium on MDS, 2009; the American Society of Hematology, 2007 and was an invited speaker for the pre-meeting workshop, of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists, 2007.
