10 and 20 thousand share blocks are how shorts enter has been my observation.

MM short stocks to complete sale orders as the price goes up. So even though they may like the stock they will short it to complete an order. This is especially true for MM's buying and selling penny stocks. If the volume goes way with the price of the stock then the MM's will try to keep the price down.
