Looks like a much more compelling picture here and the real story told with this picture. Burned is burned...how long it took will be the single and very last question asked when salesman sam is trying to sell this over hyped product story.

Who goes out buys wood for a home/housing project and asks how long will it take to burn down? That would simply be the dumbest question asked? Especially when paying a premium...show them the picture.... lets see if that really matters.

Perception is reality...I think reposting this picture of a job well done by a fire...the pink..red wood did not come to the resue as all those who lived or planning to live there are out. Thanks and keep that picture coming.... and now it also tells us the consumer..you are over paying and this wood is under delivering.

confirmed. Nutting & Conboy are old buddies.

got a PM saying that Nutting & Conboy worked together in Vegas at the same company years ago. back to their old ways. there seems to be a lot more about this relationship that is not being told.

Manufacturer Response

Pinkwood Ltd, located in Calgary, Canada, is western Canada's largest I-joist manufacturer. Pinkwood offers its customers standard and Class A rated I-joist. The Class A rated I-joists are coated with PinkShield coating manufactured by Cano Coatings Ltd. (www.pinkshield.ca.)

Pinkshield's technical information and test reports can be found at WH Listing:
https://whdirectory.intertek.com/Pages/DLP_SearchDetail.aspx?SpecID=33121

Pinkwood has no association with Eco Building Products. Mr. Nutting is no longer employed by Pinkwood and departed in early 2013.

There also seems to be some confusion about the MacKenzie town fire. The only part of the Mackenzie town complex that was protected was the side walls/ wall sheathing. You can see from the fire that the PKBoard protected the adjacent structures which is the purpose of the product. The product performance was recognized by the fire officials in the media. The fire rated sheathing is mandated under (AFC 5.6.1.2). If a fire starts inside a building with unprotected studs and floors, not much will stop a fire in that case.
