Can white people say it? well, you can, but the only thing you probably achieve is keeping the term in circulation. it is like following the first amendment interpretations by the SCOTUS, you can refer to women as any number of adjectives, but good taste and legal limits might be separate islands. i personally don't want to have to explain the etymology of that term to my grandson early in his life. in other words, i prefer that you join the social trend of not using that word, even though you can use it with journalistic freedom and defend it with videos, etc. headlines do not excuse the shock value factor it has even in our press. black comics selling their act do not excuse the perpetuation, in my opinion.
