Hi abc1938! I based my prediction on the Ukraine ceasefire ending on Thursday. However it ended Tuesday instead. We haven't seen a big pop from that yet...but should Putin decide to take action on behalf of the pro-Russian rebels we could. Should Iraq or the Israel vs. Hamas situation escalate we'll see another pop.

Tomorrow morning we receive not only the US weekly jobless claims but the Employment Situation from the Fed. That will give us a picture of weather the last GDP number was truly a "one off weather related thing" or if the economy is just that bad.

I don't think the US numbers tomorrow can hurt gold all that much because between Israel, Ukraine and Iraq nobody is going to want to go the long weekend without having gold in their portfolio!
