Dr. Richard D. Koenig is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon (1979). He is a world renowned lecturer of foot surgery, has taught great toe joint replacement in 37 states and 11 countries. He is a fellow of the American college of foot and ankle surgeons (1980) and a lifetime member of the American Podiatric Medical Association.
Dr. Koenig received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami (1965) and his doctorate of podiatric medicine from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio (1970.) The doctor took his post graduate training in foot surgery in Chicago at Northlake Hospital in 1972-1973.
Dr. Koenig made his home and practice in St. Louis, MO for 24 years prior to settling in Florida. Dr. Koenig was the chief of podiatry services at DePaul Health Center in St. Louis and was president of the St. Louis Podiatry Society for 2 years (1977-79.) In 1988, the doctor invented and patented his first invention, the Total Toe System, now the premier total great toe joint replacement system, worldwide.
