I think that Stephen trusted people when they told him that the teleconference wouldn't have a problem and he got burned. He was man enough to step forward and accept responsibility for the failure even though, most likely, it wasn't his fault. Trust must be earned. He quickly tried to smooth things out by doing interviews and demonstrations. I'm happy that I'm not in his shoes.
