That is now a complicated post that as you know, was started with an email I wrote to MJFF in the spring of 2013. The post notes that it was written in 2013 at the bottom. Until recently, the original date was on the post. I am quite sure the note at the bottom covers your concern about this, which is misplaced.

Most importantly that post remains valid and here is why, again.

If you had read the original post (which regards an email about alpha syn ) you would know a lot about alpha syn and PD, that MJFF itself, by its own report has spent $47 million on that alone, it has two ongoing trials in people regarding alpha syn including a vaccine trial they are helping to fund.

The medical community is coalescing around Alpha syn as a major factor in PD, with the most interesting portion of that being that this is looking like a prion like process.

When you split hairs you can say that they do not know what causes PD, you can also say that they know quite a lot about what causes PD. I focused on what they do know in detail and provided many links.

When you asked the first couple of times, I did not answer because I decided to give you a chance to read the entire post, which you obviously have declined to do.

That is your prerogative.

The bottom line re: MJFF and MANF. MJFF may or may not have MANF in mind for the future. The best chance that MJFF does have MANF in mind is that they are throwing everything that they can at PD. Even Bee venom. There is a long list. ( I only linked the ongoing studies there are MANY more compounds tried for PD.) They have the luxury of doing that with NFs. Despite no positive results in humans.

I believe (as I noted to the MJFF researcher) that is because the rat model is not good model. They need a better rat model, against which to test MANF and all other compounds.

Currently MJFF has a rebuke on the books regarding AMBS, that AMBS felt the need to file with the SEC. That is older than a year, it is 18 + months old now. So that post remains terribly pertinent as well. Until that rebuke is lifted I see NO support for MANF by MJFF.

But that is all in the stickie, so sorry that I had to repeat it.
