roy, jane its better to have a smartphone iphone or android and TD ameritrade account.u do not have to worry about wifi or trading thru td ameritrade as their commissions are high and also opening the lap top.i have a cheap LG smart phone.its been a year i am doing entirely on smartphone.
as per TD platform its so amazing.u can have 4 diff tabs with different time frames for charts.news tab, options tab. i use their app and mostly trade on optionshouse app and again that is also on the phone itself.
once you get used to it all u need a quick glance when you are away from computer and trade.

I am using Etrade's Pro Trader - I love it. Keeps me hooked into them, even tho' they are higher cost.

I considered a laptop, but ended up buying an HP 18 "All-in-One". It is a big monitor with the computer built in, plus a full size keyboard and mouse.

It only cost $350 at Staples. I considered a laptop, but never liked the screen size, or the mouse action on laptops - especially touch pads.

I recommend it for day traders - can pack up into a computer bag, but better functionality for daytrading, (IMHO).

Hope you are tolerating the treatments reasonably well - and that they are working. You have many fans on this board!
