I like that analogy. I just wonder if there is anyone with the ability and the will to thump these greedy D.C.monkeys on the head with a club.

chessmaster315, good analogy also equally valid to trading/investing in the stock market... when it comes to dealing with one's own emotions/instincts of fear and greed. GLTY

I agree, but here is why:
Its based on the premise "How to catch a monkey". You drill a hole in a wall or tree that is just large enough to put your hand through, but not big enough to allow a clenched fist to pass. Then you put delicious fruit in the hole.
The monkey will go and reach the fruit. He wont be able to pull it through, unless he lets go of the fruit. He wont let go, and you go behind him and he is trapped.

The politicians are like greedy monkeys. They see the fannie money and wont let go, even if it means they are killed. That is why the politicians wont let go: Greed.
