Peterson wasn't the tour guide. That was Justus Mohl, the former geologist who only heard from Peterson once. Peterson lives in California. He's never had much to say about himself, and very little turns up online.
According to his father's obituary, he was once in the construction business. There was no indication in what capacity.
I suspect that then as now, he doesn't spend a lot of time in Mexico.
No one believes his crazy story from his father that has been dead and buried for a long time.
Oh, I believe the Dead Dad's Dream story. As I recall, Dad got his concessions in 1979.
The world is full of goldbugs. They can be quite obsessive, convinced that their properties are worth a fortune. Some of them know something about mining, but many don't. I'd put Peterson in the latter category.
