None, if anything it makes need for Merom less urgent as it doesn't look like there will be a 64 bit windows for notebooks this year.

Not surprising, but it does give Intel more time to ramp their new micro-architecture before the new sales ramp. By Jan 2007, Intel will be mostly transitioned to their new micro-architecture, and can open the flood gates to new consumer demand. It might actually end up fairly good timing, and could do great things for INTC's 2007 stock performance.

Obviously, this is in concert with Intel's release of product. Merom will be available in 64 bits for the launch. MS knows where it's bread is buttered. All else will be available for the corporate launch. This adds a lot of confidence to the Intel launch dates.
