What bothers me is that there were dying patients waiting to get onto the GIST or Medullary Thyroid Cancer trials that could not since October.

Good that these trials are back on track and apparently saving lives.

That FDA action closing down Iclusig was irresponsible.

I don't subscribe to any sinister plot, sheer bureaucratic stupidity and
malevolent ill-will from one Dr.Pazdur is sufficient cause.
And yes, I agree that it damaged Ariad, and damaged patients'
chances for a decent life and longer survival. Not exactly the
mandate given the FDA!

I would bet that if anybody with access to
all the data did a study, it would show that hundreds of patients
(CML and others) will have suffered/died unnecessarily because
of Pazdur's grand-standing. What an accomplishment!
