Speculation on CA withdrawal

I would agree that a logical course of action would be for ATVI to settle the case or buy WDDD on the open market, since I believe that if the case went to the end that ATVI will lose with damages of around $150 million.

I think that ATVI settled the CA case because they are still trying to 'drag things out'. By settling the CA case, that forces WDDD's case to remain in MA and do not run the risk of an earlier Markman hearing.

I think that WDDD agreed to settle the CA case because it avoids the problem and expense of having two cases going on, on separate coasts of the United States.

While I would be happy to see a 'reasonable' settlement ($50 million or higher that ATVI pays to WDDD OR ATVI buy WDDD for $50 million or high), I would be surprised if that really does happen.

Isn't the case in California brought about by activision? When they drop the case.....they drop it. Why would worlds need to agree?
