The box isn't really magic, it uses lasers and other components from OSIS and the identifiers are the light finger prints of individual pathogens. This is patented technology which is obviously hard to catalog. NMU and Purdue feel this is worth pursuing and willing to invest lab time to further their research in solving the pathogen issues they feel are important and are a focus of their time.
