#222999 RE: rooster #222998

rooster -- as has been thoroughly and conclusively demonstrated and documented for you here, repeatedly, that is false

1998 had a huge, maximal El Nino event, vast swath of the surface of the tropical Pacific much warmer than usual, and at least largely as a result produced by far the warmest year yet to that point, way above both the years around it and the longer-term trend -- there has been no even vaguely comparable El Nino event/global temps impact since -- though the one apparently coming later this year looks like it could be quite a strong one, with more than a few in the field for a couple of months now saying that with that this year could pretty easily become the new all-time warmest (April tied with April 2010 for the warmest ever) (oh, and 2010 has since become the warmest year ever, eclipsing 1998, with another 4 or 5 years anyway since 2000 grouped/near just below the 1998 level; as I'd hope would go without saying at this point, the first decade of this century was the warmest decade on record, easily topping the prior record decade, the 1990s)

in recent years we've had a fair prevalence of La Nina events, which, by exposing colder waters across much larger than usual areas of the tropical Pacific's surface, drop global air temps below what they'd otherwise be and correspondingly increase oceanic heat uptake across those (again, tropical) areas (and at least twice I think in recent years we've set the new all-time warmest year during a La Nina, one of which I think was just below the 1998 maximal El Nino level)

the longer-term uptrend is still there in the data, hasn't gone anywhere -- the warming is, and all along has been, continuing -- period

I think the masses here need to replace the tinfoil on their collective asses, since it where their heads appear to reside with all of the nonsense on this board spewed as "fact".

However, it is purely entertaining to watch the left shake in the presence of true facts, not interweb purge spoon fed-fed through the lib-o-rator machine.
