MDNT - Yes we Cannes
on 27 May 2014 by Medient Studios, Inc in Blog

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat….
Theodore Roosevelt

Phew!!! Medient’s first Cannes went well!! We went in with a rather daunting agenda and filled with doubt about our ability to pull it off. After several 16 hour 7 day weeks, I am happy to report that we were able to make ourselves heard over the cacophony that is the world’s biggest film market.

The Objectives:
•To introduce the Studioplex to the industry as the next generation production facility that will entirely change the content creation mechanics and economics.
•To formally announce the acquisition of Atlas and re-introduce them as a market leader in International Film Sales.
•To present new films and to explore collaboration, financial and content, within the industry

MEDIA BREAKFAST TO INTRODUCE THE STUDIOPLEX
On Thursday, May 15th, 2014, together with Medient Task Leaders and Atlas International President, Stefan Menz, I participated in a trade-specific media briefing in the Deauville Suite at The Majestic Barriere, Cannes. Trade journalists discussed queries surrounding Medient Studios in an informal environment to gain a full understanding of Medient’s foundations, the STUDIOPLEX venture, Medient’s recent acquisitions and overall plans for the future. During the briefing, we unveiled a sizzle reel outlining the impressive STUDIOPLEX facility and provided press with media packs, specifying investor relations and company detailed company information. In my opinion, this could not have unfolded in a more satisfactory way, with articles published online and in print and more coverage expected in the coming weeks.

Result:
•To maintain an identity within trade press for Medient Studios, Inc., that not only showcases the full service production facility but homes the company at the forefront in the provision and use of cutting edge technologies.
•Emphasize in fiscal benefits of using the Georgia studio, with integrated production finance advice available to third party producers.
•To bring producers to the Studio, by offering to package and/or co-produce and/or co- finance films, thereby creating a critical mass of films for it to sell.
•To make international distributors aware that Medient /Atlas will soon be delivering a consistent slate of films to the marketplace, thereby encouraging them to enter into output deal arrangements.
