I think my point is even more probant if we consider that WM and SSM are probably competing entities.

According to the Feb. 13, 2013 KBLB/SSM Press Release:

The collaborative work would extend to product applications' development and marketing. Under the MOU the two companies would jointly develop select applications, for Monster Silk™ and other recombinant spider silks which have been developed by Kraig. This alliance is intended to support the market development for spider silk based textiles.

According to the October 21,2013 KBLB/WM Press Release

Under terms of the agreement, the two companies will jointly develop innovative textile products based on Kraig’s Monster Silk(TM) fibers. Under the terms of the agreement, the two companies will jointly own textile product related intellectual property which is developed as a result of the collaboration.
Joint development will initially focus on Monster Silk(TM) weaving, testing and near term applications. The companies believe that this collaborative relationship will help expedite the commercialization of Monster Silk(TM) and future spider silk based technical fibers.

Though it states in the WM deal:

" The companies believe that this collaborative relationship will help expedite the commercialization of Monster Silk(TM) and future spider silk based technical fibers."

WM is currently working with MS....this is their current focus;even though it appears future fibers are under consideration.

So theoretically, WM could concentrate on MS,while SSM would utilize BR for certain projects.

Different companies;different products produced.

Not particularly beyond the scope of reasoning.
