More Wolfram's Data Coming! I thought we had the Wolfram's/Diabetes data Gerald has said we were waiting for a few months ago, but I was wrong. According to Gerald, there is still some data they are waiting for, and depending on how strong it is will determine whether our Wolframs indication goes from being behind the pack of MANF indications.....up to the very front, even ahead of Retinitis!! And trust me, Gerald is very excited about Retinitis, that is a slam dunk. We will start human clinical trials on that in later half of 2015 and it is solid!! But, there is still some Wolframs data not complete yet which could propel Wolframs to the head of the line. Gerald said if that data is strong enough and the FDA gives it orphan status in the near future, Wolframs would become our lead MANF indication. Apparently, we'd only have to do a test on a couple dozen people because Wolframs is so small!!! When I pressed Gerald about Dr. Urano's dramatic blog posting and discussion about finding a Big Pharma to back his programs....Gerald only smiles and won't comment about a Partnership. But when I asked Gerald if MANF was simply too pre-clinical to ever get a partner in the near future, Gerald shook his head and said don't count that out. I think Gerald thinks things will heat up for MANF/Wolframs/Diabetes once two things happen: 1) Good Wolframs Data, & 2) Orphan status granted by FDA. My impression is that these things could happen in time to really help us up list.
