Personally, I think the answer to your specific question (the timing), was because a third party advertisement.

If you look back a couple pages, we saw a two-day systematic buying spree of the 6 cent x ~5MM shares clearing the way for the uptick. You can peruse the posts (on other boards, about other stocks) by some of the new posters who arrived during that period, as well.

As to whether it was a reading of the chart technicals or something else... check out the data and draw your own conclusions.
