I have been doing that, I did not do it today until the last hour of trading. I will start doing it every morning. What can it hurt.

"I've been told that putting your shares up at the max amount allowed prevents your brokerage from borrowing your shares and shorting the position themselves. "

I hope it will be true~ I used to believe the same thing~ :)

Only half true~ Have been hearing that for a decade now~ Scotturd would only allow one to set limit sell order 4x current PPS~ (there's a big reason behind that)~ Eturd (has a doc. which u could sign & request them not to lend out your stocks...sadly, it's still not & will not be effective. Why? From my experiences~ if u have a margin acc. with them, then they could take whatever u have n lend it out (to MMs, brokers, etc)~

POS NITE has been shorting DSCR ~ Furthermore, there are 2-3 (sometime, we have 2 MMs n sometime we have 3 MMs supporting the master) helping master NITE~ Generally, Scottrade would use SOB MM-NITE to carry out buy/sell order~
