I think we need to stop looking at this as a part failing as that is not the most useful application. You want to stop that from happening in the first place. Most of this is about prevention and finding the weak link in the supply chain. When we are marking plastic wrap and textiles they are going to be sending in pieces from the field to spot check orders. That's how I see it being used. As in the case of polyfin. If someone takes the shrink wrap off a shipment they will have to shrink wrap it again themselves to try and cover it up. If that plastic shrink wrap is tested it will not have the mark so the whole pallet is compromised. As with textiles they have the ability to spot check not only through manufacturing and shipments but in store as well. The whole catching people when it failed always rubbed me the wrong way. That was the supplier uproar from the DLA announcement.
