Sure... but when they move to quad core the speeds will come down a bit to fit into the power envelop, so bandwidth per core should not be too much higher. Also, increases in L2 cache size decrease the bandwidth requirement. Intel has stated that the prefetchers in Woodcrest are "bandwidth aware". We don't exactly know what that means, but it has to result in some sort of improvement for quad core.
and for specint.
Sure... and a lot of server workloads are like specint.
DDR2-800 registered is due to become available in volume.
Don't really know, but as mentioned it will only be a few percentage points different in performance...
