much of what you posted is exactly where I have come to.
Interesting how people either keep trying to guess market direction or find a hot pick.

I used to be defensive when people called trading gambling.
I now embrace that. I am gambler, who bets both sides.

One method I am using short term is pairs trading.
If I enter a position and I wonder if I made a mistake,
I will quickly hedge and wait. Saves getting whipsawed on
stops.

So I am trading everyday, but I watch for common patterns
like gap-ups etc.

I will add that my long-term tests worked about the same as
my short-term tests. So my performance isn't any better
than if I traded less over years tested. I just like
cashing in everyday or the next day.
