What more would you anticipate? gE, Honeywell, and Materialise. These are pretty awesome with only Three. Could SGLB's plate be to full if more was added? I hope they can handle it. giddy in Houston. lol.

And congratulations. Those folks down under have plenty of money to invest.

Every time you read that "this will accelerate launch" (which is becoming more frequent), I also take it to mean that it will also accelerate the launch of their own arc welding metals 3D printer- which is very exciting.

I too am excited about the arc-welding printer. In the Q&A they made mention of their process with respect to arc-welding printers:

Vivek Dave:Regarding the broad applicability of PrintRite3D --- our only requirement is that we have access to sensor data that is directly related to the quality of the process. This is what is essential for PrintRite3D INSPECT. For DEFORM, we only need a line of sight to the layer that was just printed. SO i feel that both technologies are applicable to lasers, electron beams, and even to arc-welding based printers

Maybe they've convinced GE that an arc-welding 3D printer would be a good complement to other 3d printing technologies? They are materials scientists, after all, and have been consulting for GE so that could be part of what's going on in there. Just speculating.

BTW here's the first article I found in a search for 'arc welding 3d printing'...Sigma is in it lol: http://technorati.com/technology/article/innovation-in-3d-printing-through-arc/

And congrats on your speaking engagement!
