ETrade must have been kind to you. I can't find a broker in Canada that will let you short a pink or anything for that matter under .50 without 100% margin PLUS .50 PER SHARE.

Just plain can't find a broker in Canada that will allow shorting of any penny pink, only if it happens in error or if for example you have something like forward split or divvy stock coming, then you are technically short if for some reason the stock doesn't arrive.

Hit the short sell button on ETrade - by mistake. And I had to buy to cover. This is a true story. So I know these micro-pennies can be shorted.

And if they'd caught you, you'd have been hit with a trading suspension or worse.

Of course, you'd have done quite well if you could have got away with it.
