My message to these senators:
"You clowns have already damaged the economy, don't ruin the nation by eliminating the GSEs. At least act like a human being, not like a goat."

Couldn't resist

had to email him.

Mr Johanns,

Thank you for your time.

Why would any legislator ever consider rewarding banks for egregious and criminal behavior in which so many families suffered and lost their homes by giving those same banks more control over our US mortgage market. Efforts to pass legislation proposed by the Corker Warner/Johnson Crapo bills now being considered by the Senate banking committee will do just that. So many more families will lose any hope for home ownership as they will be forced to capitulate to a lifetime of renting. To learn these bill were written by an ex-employee of countrywide and ratified by you and your colleges is absolutely ineffable. In time, American citizens will awaken to the truth that it was not the GSE's, but in fact, the banks in their effort to take control of the mortgage market that were the root cause of the 2008 crisis. Where is justice and indictments of these individuals who perpetrated these crimes as evidence by the lawsuits against 18 banking institutions by the FHFA. Why only settlements and no indictments? Why are innocent GSE shareholders being punished? Countless of our elderly citizens have realized a lifetime of savings and investment wiped clean by the unfair and unconstitutional treatment of the net worth sweep of all GSE profits by our treasury dept. Not to mention several other investors who were duped by our own government by promoting investment in the GSE's, and then later publicly declaring their investment worthless. I thought this was America where the rule of law meant something. How is it possible to attract private capital by destroying private capital. All you public servants swore an oath to uphold our Constitution, yet appears in this case to ignore that oath. I hope and pray for all our public servants to embrace true wisdom. Corker Warner/Johnson Crapo is quite an absurd piece of legislation designed to benefit the banks at the expense of ordinary citizens. For the good of the people I ask that you vote your conscience by voting against this bill.

Your time is very much appreciated

Respectfully
