I don't know what there requirements are but I think you need at least 15k to open an account there. I have over 50k in my account there and they let me short almost anything. Not all the OTCs are available to short you just check to see if they have any shares available to short. They will give you a certain amount of shares you are allowed to short on the specific security. GDSM has a few million available for shorting. I think the higher your account balance the more they will let you short not sure about that though...
