I lost about $20K in pennyland before I got smart , but it takes work , need to take notes and read back some of the mods posts on this board , alot of good info

Start by making a 50 ticker watch list and making charts on them and then learn support and resistance

Usually don't follow the crowd and don't buy too high into a run or overly hiped stock. jmo Look at yearly charts and 200ma and be patient.
