Yesterday the stock was moved down from 3.85 to 3.80 in last 30 minutes with 100 share blocks = no real volume. If you base gaps solely on the close and open you should really look into the trades near these points. IMO The last true gap that filled was created 11/12/13 opened 2.33 HOD 2.43 closed 2.40. Next day opened 2.49 LOD 2.46 closed 2.62. From there it shot to 3.50 high and days later settled to around 2.60 then 12/9/13 it opened 2.71 then fell fast to 2.41 filling the gap from 2.46 to 2.43.(I bought that dip.) Then moved up slowly from there till 2/24/14 when it broke the 3.50 resistance and ran to 6.35, Crapo-John bill introduced and the sell-off started. If you think its only open and close then in your logic there is still a gap from 2.41 to 2.40 since that never filled. However using HOD LOD the gap was filled from 2.43 to 2.46 when it went lod 2.41 on 12/09/13. Find gaps using the daily chart not the minute chart. Long story longer: upward trend gaps are created when HOD is lower than the next days LOD; downward gaps are when LOD is higher than next days HOD. Gaps are filled when a LOD goes lower then the HOD of the gap, and visa versa for downward gaps.
