I think the point I'm trying to make is that when the court orders damages to be paid, it is not easy to worm out of it...Ironridge Global (the company) would not only risk being in violation of a court order and face paying stiff penalties to the NYS courts, but would also have to deal with the IRS taking the money and doing an audit. IronridgeGlobal has to carry liability insurance and the punitive damages award would come out of that. If they want to be idiots, they can pay the damages, and then appeal...but if they lose the appeal, they not only have to pay their own legal and court fees, but will have to pay Intellicell's as well. So, the best option for IR Global would be to just pay the damages thru the liability insurance...then on to the next company to damage.
