Yes. All that is said by politicians, leaders, journalists must be carefully monitored, scrutinized and verified to screen out ignorance, inaccuracies, errors, misdirection, distortions, lies, deception, obfuscation, opinion posing as fact, etc. We cannot depend on others to give an accurate, error free report. It is our responsibility to check these matters since those items listed above are and have been commonplace for generations past, present and to come.

Now that we have access to original materials via online digital archives, databases, news services, online search, etc., we can verify what is said quickly and efficiently. We have almost equal and free access to the same materials as everyone else, except for those digital databases that require subscriber fees and use fees such as Lexis-Nexis, Pacer, EBSCO Business Source Premier, ProQuest National Newspapers Premier, FOIA requests to federal and state agencies, etc. and personal communication and interviews with principal players. We should not be caught unaware.

Yes indeed. The upside is. They have shown their true colors and integrity. But alas they probably don't care.
When you have to resort touch trickery and slight of words you know you are doing something wrong and untruthful. They all know how the press was spinning it and might have even put them up to it.
Having to spin, deceive, and possibly outright lie does not bode well for their agenda.
