A federal case moves forward according to federal and local court rules administered and managed by the judged in coordination with the attorneys. It is a step by step process and the Judge sets the pace and the attorneys generally follow. All the cases are still in the pre-trail stage and 9 months have already past. Time delays can occur depending on issues that arise during the proceeding. Bench trials will move quicker and are decided earlier than a jury trial. There is no set time to trial termination. Expect at least 19 months for a very speed termination to median termination of 40 months for the District of Columbia Courts.
