Agreed. Intel's lead is about a year re: TTM, but I think Intel's process will be denser and I do not believe TSMC's claims that it has matched Intel transistor performance. After years of offering meaningfully worse performing transistors they suddenly caught up? Seems farfetched, but if given the evidence I will obviously believe it.

I also expect Intel will have lower costs by the time Broxton/SoFIA 14nm come along as Intel will have been pumping out 14nm product for over a year before the first TSMC built designs show up.

If Intel gets Broxton out in mid-2015 as promised, and if it gets SoFIA 14nm out by EOY 2015, then I think we'll be in damn good shape to start taking back some volume from Samsung/TSMC in mobile. It's all on the product teams to execute now, the process guys have done their bit.
