#4440 RE: ztockings #4438

My interpretation is that he's noting the names of the Canadian MMs who are allegedly involved in the shorting of ANY. The conspirators involved are both on the bid/ask. The MM (probably also short) on the ask is driving the price down by disguising the bid size on larger sells so that the MM on the bid can cover their short as cheaply as possible.

If I am on the bid for ANY at 8.03 and someone steps in front of me with a 5,000 share bid at 8.07, I'm likely to raise my bid price. Shorters don't want to see that. So they make the offer size appear smaller (maybe only showing a fraction of that 5,000) so I don't bid jump that 8.07. Then they rush and slam the bid and fill the order.

Same thing that happens here in the US, only different MM names.

It appears that the SPIHF US MMs are also profiting a little extra by scalping fractions of pennies from the USD/CAD exchange rate on top of their regular take from the spread.

DD, tell me if I'm way off here...this is my understanding of what you were saying.
