Positive lab animal test results may only get you about 75-80% success rate vs good outcome on human subjects and could take up to ten years or more from start to finish. If you can't wait that long I'd say biopharma is the wrong sector of the market for you to play in. I suggest you look into commodities or muni bonds instead of this "turd", as you say.
