#43667 RE: mathew633 #43666

Thanks, excellent morning read. Up for discussion...lol...leave it to me to stir the pot a little. I get really amazed at my prayers being answered. Many, many, many times while doing things and sort of hit the end of the road moment, I speak with God and sure enough my little issues disappear, this can be when I am building something, working on a project in my shop, or sometimes even personal issues...BIBGO....my problem is solved. The other day I was doing something outside and no way was it gonna get done, later my wife ask if I ever got things working, I said yep, I finally gave up on me and talked with God and He got me straightened out...NOW!!! For the discussion part, I fail greatly when it comes to my "BIG" prayers. Over the yrs I have had major issues on this very subject, God and I have had long discussions about this and sometimes to the point of confrontation. I am thick and I understand that. Now let's be clear here, I am not talking about hitting the lottery. Why do my little prayers get answered yet those big things do not....I know the key statement, well it is not in God's will...I have surrendered to this, although not sure this is correct answer, maybe just an easy way out.....Example: I have encountered more than once a child sick with a terminal disease and have talked and talked with God, begged, pleaded etc, yet nothing & child dies. Of course the child is in heaven with God, that is not my point. I have prayed in public and all alone in the silence of my room. The disturbing thing to me is not the prayer for an adult, an addict, the gov't, etc that goes unanswered as I can understand this, "sort of," but an innocent child, a big prayer, but does not fit into God's plan & I know He has a plan for everything, yet it does get confusing at times... I have searched the Scriptures and spent much time talking with God on this very matter. I do not have the answer, yet it is a subject that does not bugg me as before. SEE! I can open a can of worms from time to time....Steve's fault today

God Bless

Just a Little Bit Longer
They shouted to the Lord and said, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you judge the people who belong to this world and avenge our blood for what they have done to us?” - (Revelation 6:10)

In Revelation 6, we read about those who were put to death for their faith. They are in heaven, aware of the injustice, aware of the fact there were fellow servants still on earth being mistreated. So they prayed this prayer to the Father: .“O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you judge the people who belong to this world and avenge our blood for what they have done to us?” (verse 10). In other words, Hey, Lord, this isn’t right. When are You going to correct it?

Here was God’s response to their prayers:

Then a white robe was given to each of them. And they were told to rest a little longer until the full number of their brothers and sisters—their fellow servants of Jesus who were to be martyred—had joined them. (verse 11)

God’s timing is not always our timing. The Bible says that “He has made everything beautiful in His time” (see Ecclesiastes 3:11).

It kind of reminds me of taking a trip with small children in the car. You are cruising along, an hour into the trip.

“When are we going to get there?” they ask.

What do you say? “We are almost there. A little bit longer.”

The martyred tribulation saints were asking when they would be avenged. And God was saying, Just a little bit longer.

We say, “Lord, when are You going to come?” He says, Just a little bit longer. “When is judgment going to come?” Just a little bit longer. “When is my prayer going to be answered?” Just a little bit longer. Hang on now. I am in control. I am doing everything according to My perfect will.
