Regarding these:


In short, learn how to trade before you worry about investing.

I would never tell a newbie to trade before they know anything about investing. They should learn the basics of investing. How to research a stock, how to find a stock, how to place an order, and how to figure out when to exit. Trading imo, is way harder to do than investing. Investing gives you a long time frame so you don't have to worry about making money day by day. If you don't know the basics of investing you should never trade. I would highly recommend that a newbie learns to invest first and if they think they have a handle on it and want to try trading then fine.

You think all the really savvy investors don't know how to trade?
I happen to know a lot of savvy investors who couldn't trade day to day if their life depended on it. They are two totally different animals and rules for trading are much different than for investing.


Then paper trade on that knowledge until you get it right.
