Best guess approach is - They merge under Elite with Elite leadership at the CEO position (and the others are negotiated). As such, they would remain a public company and it would increase its value. Also, if you recall, Epic has a "few" Elite shares, which are clearly assets. Upon a merger, those assets become owned by the newly combined firm and that means they would be out of play. Almost like a share buy back. Nifty addition to a what could be a good move. And, it could (could not would) mean that the list of pharma firms interested gets expanded.
