Based on my experience and knowledge I am not concerned. He owns almost 5 million shares and is not overly compensated compared to others in his position/industry. Stock ownership is a form of compensation rather than salary. I'd be more concerned if he were earning a huge salary and selling massive amounts of his holdings, which is not the case. JMO.
12k is a nice base! Nothing to scoff at. You are better off than all those people with less... or none! Just buy more when/if you can and have a comfortable "cut-off" point for your per share average.
