Actually no it doesn't. If you are simply looking for a tick here or there well then yes. For any direction of the stock, your 100 buy or sell to paint red or green has absolutely no effect whatsoever.
MM's take the pps where we want them to take it. Very simply
If we put heavy buying pressure, they raise the pps. If we are negative because of no news they lower the pps. Its actually very simple.
MM's make money up or down. When this heads back to a penny its because good news came out, investors are positive putting heavy bid pressure and then the pps goes up.
