Not really a surprise. Sony was their main customer and Sony has given up on their Qdot televisions.

Nanoco will be next IMO.QDV is a one trick pony and have spent a ridiculous amount of money to produce 2 products.Their bulb failed miserably As they say only the strong survive....Multiple avenues for revenue is what QMC is after not just displays.I'll say it again that Steve has managed pretty well with less than adequate funding and timing is looking pretty good to ramp up.The competitors spent a s**t ton of money to date and its catching up to them now. They can't have overhead like they have without substantial revenues to sustain themselves.IMO Nanosys will still be here when the dust settles...Nanoco and QDv...I have my doubt's.

Wow... That's bad for them, good news for us... :-)
And probably the reason why they are looking into solar now...
I always thought QDEF was the better and cheaper technology. It can be easily implemented into any LCD production line...

Staff Scientist (Former Employee)
Lexington, MA (US)
I worked at QD Vision full-time

Pros – Young, driven, diverse work force. Scientific leadership is strong and easy to get along with. Company meetings are useful and informative. Technology is compelling

Cons – Needs a stronger customer base. Rapid growth led to some weakening of the company's cohesiveness. Lack of business has led to layoffs.

Advice to Senior Management – Maybe it's time to shake up the executive branch and bring in some new leadership.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company
